WHO CAN TAKE PART IN THE DAY?

We are inviting Christians from all denominations in the South West to take part in this event! We recommend that children under 10 are with a parent or guardian. If you’ve never participated in this sort of thing before, that’s OK - it’s really easy to take part and enjoyable too!

IS THIS FOR GROUPS OR INDIVIDUALS?

The vision is that there will be at least one Christian on each of the 630 miles, so individuals can definitely sign up - but we think doing this in community with a group of friends or family from your church will make it an even better experience. Groups may choose to either stay together at the same spot or spread themselves out over the mile between the other sections to both the left and right of your chosen location.

CAN THERE BE MORE THAN ONE GROUP AT EACH LOCATION?

Each person or group registering their involvement is required to choose their location from the map on the sign up page. This location can be chosen by multiple people and when there have been three or more registrations then that location changes colour to red on the sign up map. This doesn’t preclude others from also choosing this section but we would suggest that people consider one of the other near by locations that are still green. When multiple groups turn up at the same location on the day, we recommend they introduce themselves to one another but also be sensitive to the variation of styles and traditions that the other groups may have as they pray and worship in each of the three 10 minute sections.

WHAT SHOULD I PRAY?

As per the ‘Day Itself’ webpage you are encouraged to pray whilst looking out to the sea and into the land during the 30 minute time together. To help you with what to pray, we’ll be releasing suggested prayers in a range of styles to help you with this. We’ll post them on our website and also email you the link nearer the time if you’ve signed up here on the website. Just make sure when you sign up you provide us with an accurate email address.

WHAT HAPPENS IF IT’S BAD WEATHER?

We’re praying for great weather! But even if it’s rainy we’ll still take part. If it looks like it’ll be hazardous conditions, we’ll email out an email notification to all participants nearer the time. We’re encouraging all participants to dress appropriately for the weather and be responsible for their own health and safety. Therefore, if you’re near a cliff edge and it’s extremely windy, please be extremely careful and as you feel appropriate, please move to a different part of the Coastal Path that is safer for you.
